As the oldest dance school in Jefferson Davis Parish Bernadette Gay's School of Dance opened in 1982.

At that time her mother, Billie took care of the business end as in  all billing and "dance parents" while Bernadette did what she loved; TEACH the art of dance!

Bernadette is dedicated to her studio. Due to her husband, Bob Hammack's job, she would fly every week from Dallas, Texas to her classes and then fly back until Bob accepted a job in Lafayette, LA with their daughter Bella and niece Sadie.

Ms. Billie, lost her battle to cancer in 2000, a very devastating time for our dance family and especially for Bernadette. All of the mothers and dancers that knew Ms. Billie, she was so loved by all, she took care of business, and is still very much missed.

Bernadette continues to keep up on all new dance techniques and has had many choreographers that choregraphed movies and music videos visit her studio as well as invite her to "closed" classes of their own.

Bernadette has many accomplishments under her throughout her dance career and her students have had the opportunity to perform around the United States
